PJM has undertaken for some years a market study on the possibility and potential in the business realities to replace licensed paid applications with a solid and mature alternative open source, ie software not protected by copyright and freely editable by users. The purpose PJM is to encourage the client to the use of these realities free, through the study of the case, infact, we modify and transform the free software as the needs request, in order to guarantee customized products for industrial and business problems.

 Our objectives

The objectives of PJM's research and study are based on the identification of products in open source that absolve the main tasks of industrial companies, manufacturing and commercial, and a migration path to the new infrastructure. From the first UNIX operating systems, the community that follows and spreads the philosophy of free code is greatly expanded. From the most popular programming languages, to the every day Office applications, from essential software for internet access to the management of databases; it is now possible to replace most of the paid programs with free counterparts, especially in working environments where the costs of software's management and purchase are an important aspect in the financial statements of a company. Just at this direction going efforts to reduce costs, with the development of highly reliable programs that follow the planning of the resources, the management of business processes, handling of the indispensable information and customer relations.

PJM thanks to amazing results obtained for many years, employs in a diligent way the Plone application pursuing our goals and those of our customers by offering an open source plan divided into 7 points.

  1. DESIGN through the analysis and the development of architecture, the search for the best methodological solutions, technical and applicative 
  2. DEVELOPMENT using custom applications and products for the resolution of industrial and business issues
  3. SYSTEMIC ACTIVITIES as installing applications, system management and flexibility analysis of porting version
  4. HOUSING through the server hosting we investigate the various networking solutions available
  5. POST PRODUCTION thanks to assistance and maintenance of the product, benchmarking and call center activities focused on customer
  6. HUMAN RESOURCES providing analysts, systems analysts and developers for projects and collaborations in the company
  7. TRAINING intended as training on the job, developing methodologies and tools addressing the study through technical documentation and training with courses in the catalog, formative paths and customized courses

But what is the Ploneopen source platform?

Plone is an advanced content management system (CMS) that allows you to share information quickly and easily on a local and global network. Allows you to create, edit, update and manage quickly content of informative web sites and portals for intranets, systems for document management and collaborative portals, customized for each company type, with no need of technical skills.
The nature of Open Source Software (OSS) makes Plone easily adaptable to very different needs and desires. Its modular design allows integration of more complex sections in your portal, such as forums and e-commerce, until the realization of real web applications, to meet the most specific needs.

Plone is a multi-platform, can be installed and run on more known information systems, such as GNU/Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, FreeBSD e Solaris. It is released under the GNU General Public License, the same as many operating systems and programs Linux-based, allowing the free modification and redistribution. Uses Python open source programming language , Zope application server and database ZeoDB, thus avoiding licensing costs and having to associate a product of a single vendor (vendor lock-in).
